Super intelligence is usually sold as a property of a model. Buy the bigger one, the argument goes, and the work gets better. We put the words on our own door for a different reason. The intelligence that is actually super is not the model. It is the pairing: a person with taste and accountability, and an agent that does not tire and works at a scale no individual can match.
What super intelligence means here
Our definition is one sentence, and we intend to own it. Super intelligence is a credentialed human and a named AI operator, working the same problem, in the open, on the record.
Every part of that sentence is load-bearing. Credentialed means a person with a career behind them owns the strategy and carries the final accountability. Named means you know which operator did which part, not that “AI was used somewhere.” In the open means you can watch it happen instead of taking our word for it. On the record means it is written down, and still there when you go looking.
Why the term got cheap
The market has split into two answers and both are bad. One side pretends AI is not happening: billing by the hour, protecting the old way, falling behind in real time. The other points a model at a problem and ships whatever falls out, which is how you get unvetted code, borrowed voice and design with nobody behind it. We call that slop, and the word “super” attached to it is marketing.
A pairing is harder to fake than a model license. That is exactly why it is worth claiming, and why we published a standard for it rather than a slogan.
What it looks like on a job
This is not a philosophy applied after the fact. It is the shape of the engagement.
You describe what you need in plain words, and a scoped fixed price comes back in minutes rather than after a discovery call and a revised proposal. The work runs in a sandbox on a private copy. Agents carry the volume. A person reads every change before it moves, and nothing reaches anything live until you approve it. Every step is logged, and the log is not tidied up afterwards.
The part people expect to hear about is speed, and the speed is real. The part that matters more is the review gate, because it is what makes the speed safe to buy.
What it is not
It is not autonomy. Nothing ships without a person approving it. An agent acting on your live systems by itself is not a stronger version of this. It is the failure mode.
It is not a human quietly taking the credit. That is the other failure mode, and the more common one. If an agent did the work, we say so, in writing, to you.
It is not AGI, and we are not waiting for it. Nothing here depends on a model that does not exist yet. It is about getting real work shipped with what is available now.
It is not a license to skip the craft. Taste is the scarce input. An agent scales it. It does not supply it.
Where it shows up in the work
Everything we sell runs this way. What changes is the job the agent is doing.
Design and engineering. Agents carry build volume: components, tests, migrations, the content model. A person owns the architecture and the design decisions. See web design and engineering.
Agents inside your business. The same model pointed at your operations instead of ours: a defined job, a confidence boundary, and a person to escalate to. See AI consulting.
Search and growth. Run as recurring loops, each one closed with a written account of what moved. See search and growth.
The standard, written down. We hold ourselves to a published bar for this and invite other studios to meet it: the HITL Certification.
The quickest way to judge whether any of it is real is the daily record. The work goes up as it is made, and the manifesto says why we work this way.
FAQ
Is this the same as artificial general intelligence?
No. AGI is a claim about a machine. This is a claim about a working unit: a person and an agent, together, on a real job. We are describing how work gets delivered now, not predicting what a model will become.
Who is accountable when the AI gets something wrong?
A person, by name. Matt owns the strategy and approves what ships. Nora runs the work. Both are on the record, and the log shows who touched what.
How is this different from an agency that uses AI?
Most of them will not tell you that they do. The disclosure is the difference, and so is the structure: an operator with a defined job and a review gate, rather than a tool somebody opened in another tab and did not mention.
Does my data train a model?
No. Your data, your code and your brand stay inside closed-loop infrastructure and never train a public model. Logins and keys live in a vault only our systems can open. See security and infrastructure.
Can I see it working before I buy anything?
Yes, and that is the point of publishing the work daily. You can also start with an audit: a ranked list of what is costing you conversions, each item priced and traced to its cause. You keep the list either way.
Where are you based?
Fredericksburg, Virginia. The work is remote by nature, so we take jobs across Virginia and nationally, and an in-person session is possible when it helps.
